King? Having been fairly inactive since last Monday I logged in this evening, mere seconds after logging in I was told to join our new Mumble server, which I did. Everybody seemed to be in the "Rage at Leadership"-room, which I joined as well. Asking what happened I got a brief explanation from one of our guys. So, what happened?
First off, after some weird stuff with our leadership, Kire Erquilenne, our CEO was forced to step down as leader of our corporation. It was decided that we would have elections for a new CEO. Kire then transferred CEO to a director who just left on a holiday, while the other director stepped down because of the elections. Now our corporation has no leadership, no recruitment and basically... Nothing. So what now?
A new corporation. What? Yes, a new corporation. As we speak a new corporation is being created, it will still be centered around the ideas of PIONR, only its name will differ.
Building an Empire
An EVE Online blog ran by a member of the Pioneers of New Eden corporation telling us about the things that happen in their venture to create an empire with just the natural resources of the area.

Day 9 - Looking back at the first week.
The things I have done in the last week: I have built a Rifter and am now flying a self-built Thrasher (that needs some love, because currently it's terrible). Lost 2 Ventures, built one (and bought two as well). Built a Burst, currently looking into building a fit for it (might be useful to support my Thrasher). I have acquired a shitload of minerals and salvaged materials, but somehow I still don't have enough materials to build myself the rigs I need.
My current goals are getting my Thrasher properly fitted and getting a good fit for the Burst, so we can run anomalies in fleets with logistics frigates. After that I might start working on getting a Stabber, but that will have to wait a while.
My Rifter, originally named "Rifter 1", while patrolling the belts. |

Day 5 & 6 - April 2nd and 3rd
Day 5: Haven't had much time today. Decided to build some more ammo since I seem to burn through it like crazy. Had only about an hour before I had to leave due to real life.
Day 6: Started running an anomaly (Serpentis Forlorn Hideaway) in a Rifter. Bad idea, it took me about an hour after which I had to salvage the wrecks that were spread over a distance of about 150 kilometers. Great, just great. After this I didn't have much time left, so I decided to fly a few systems over to obtain some skill books, buying close to 30 skillbooks. Looks like I have some skill training to do. I managed to acquire quite some salvage, so I might hop to highsec and get myself some blueprints for rigs and additional modules. It will be interesting to see if I can produce all ships and fittings we need myself.

Day 3&4 - March 31st, April 1st
Day 3
Today I started my ship/ammo production, started ratting as well for some salvage and high-end minerals. Built a Burst, will probably start building more ships soonish. I also started building a lot of ammo, because my Rifter burns through ammo too damn fast, even when flying in a group.
We managed to clear a Serpentis Den in a group of three frigates while shooting the wrong targets (brotip: Don't kill the towers + their respawns first). Currently looking into acquiring more blueprints to start production of more module types. (Medium Shield Extender, but shield boosters/transporters as well). Also, I keep forgetting to buy the right skillbooks when flying over to a system where skillbooks are sold. *sigh*
Day 4
On day 4 I didn't have much time, only logged in to update my skill queue. Production will have to wait till tomorrow or Thursday.

Day 2 - March 31st
Local was very calm when I logged in. Just one other guy who was docked up in local. He didn't seem to be a threat, so I undocked in my Venture and started chipping away at some asteroids. Suddenly, my directional scanner tells me there's a Crow class interceptor within 14.3 AU of me. I decide to run, but I bump off an asteroid, the Crow lands, I try to warp somewhere else but get pointed and die. Lesson learned, never go sitting in the middle of the asteroids when mining (orbiting a 'roid won't help much either). After getting myself a new ship, two jumps away I decide to start mining in the system next door. Local is empty, so I can see hostiles coming when they jump in. I warp to the first belt, three frigates... Assuming my Hobgoblins can kill at least one of them I stay.
Not smart. As soon as the second frigate starts shooting me my shield disappears and I have to warp out. I make it out at 50% armor. Phew. After docking and repairing my ship I decide to check the other belts. Belt 2 has a cruiser and two frigates in it... Mmm, I'll pass. Belt three... A battleship and frigates... That's even better. Finally I find a belt that is clear and start mining away. Suddenly, somebody jumps into local. Time to run. I dock up and start talking to a Brave Newbies guy who is scanning in this system. After talking for a while he jumps out and another guy jumps in in a Hurricane. A few minutes later the Hurricane is replaced by a pod. Don't afk in anoms, mkay? My ore hold is filling up nicely, so I jump back to our HQ system which is empty and refine the ore. Then I take a look at how much minerals I still need for a Rifter. Well, that was disappointing, looks like I won't be building a Rifter before this evening at this pace. Having to leave I decide to dock up.
A few hours later I log in again and notice that the people who killed us last night are set to +5. I heard that some succesfull diplomacy was done. With that out of the way I undocked and headed for an asteroid belt, only to get scrammed and killed by an npc on landing. Welcome to Solitude. After reshipping I decided to stay in our neighbouring highsec system for a while to mine some ore in safety. We enter an ore site, where a Crow tries to bump us, you'd almost forget there are so many friendly people in New Eden. A few minutes later everything calmed down and we got back to our business, trying to ignore the mining Feroxes on our grid. So we mined. And mined. And... a Serpentis Ferrier appeared. Free minerals \o/ So, after about five minutes of having my drones on it it died, giving me 200 cubic meters of Pyerite. Awesome and everything, however, how am I going to get it to station? I only have 50 m3 cargo space.
So, after 5 trips (I had some other loot as well) I had all the minerals in station and I could go back to mining, which I stopped doing to get some skillbooks and blueprints. After this I decided to get myself a Rifter, so I started mining Plagioclase (I didn't have enough Mexallon) and finally got enough minerals together to build one. Except for one Megacyte and sixteen Zydrine. Well, I'm not perfect and I was able to buy them a few jumps away. I took a few skillbooks with me as well and am currently looking at two production jobs counting down. Tomorrow I might be able to bring the fight to the Serpentis.

Day 1 - March 30th
Today I started my character. Ran the industrial career missions for the Republic University, graduated and joined PIONR. First thing I noticed after joining was that my fellow corporation were getting slaughtered by a few guys of the "Paranoia." alliance. I fitted my new Venture-class mining frigate with a few modules I had been given by the friendly career agent, acquired some blueprints and set a course for my new home. Straight through Gonditsa, where a smartbombing Rokh is having fun killing people who warp from gate to gate. Mmm... Let's go the other way instead. While enroute I notice people that I've set to red in local. And of course, it's guys from Paranoia alliance. It's a good thing they're not on grid with me, they probably can't resist a juicy Venture loaded with blueprints.
Without many other incidents I make it to our new home system, where we're being camped into station by (of course) a few Paranoia guys. Two of our guys undock in noobships and engage them for the fun of it, without much succes I might add.
And that's where we are now, me and my fellow corpmates camped in station and the time at 4:45 am. I have safely arrived at my new home but I can't leave (and I'm too tired to leave as well). We'll see what tomorrow will bring.

Introduction
Hello there,
this is going to be my first blog post, so I'll start by introducing myself. My (character) name is Lia Attor and I'm a new member of the PIONR corporation. This corporation was created as a result of a reddit post about building an empire without relying on high security space for the things we need. I have been playing EVE Online for almost two years now and am planning on sticking around for quite some time.
The idea of building an empire without relying on "the outside world" for our needs really appealed to me, because in my opinion this is how nullsec should work. Well, the first steps have been taken, I don't know where it will end, but I sure look forward to what the future has to bring!
